The Lakewood Young Performers Camp offers children the opportunity to grow creatively in a professional theater setting. A non-residential day camp at Lakewood Theater, the nation’s oldest summer theater, YPC is open to youth 6 – 17 years old who want to learn theater craft from theater professionals. Every camper will perform in costume and make-up before a set and an audience.

During the day, the campers will be instructed in acting, improvisation, movement, stage make-up, costuming, set construction, voice, dance and auditioning. In addition to learning theater craft, the program has been designed to teach children the importance of working together as a team, with emphasis on group activities that build skills in communication, decision-making, coping and physical mobility.

Each camp session is Monday - Friday with camp beginning at 9:00 and running until 3:00.
